چکیده
(1) Background: sewage sludge is a by-product of wastewater treatment, which needs to be managed appropriately, e.g., in composting processes. The application municipal composts (MSSCs) as soil amendment potential way effectively manage sludge. (2) Methods: this paper presents the results vegetation pot experiment undertaken assess suitability Dactylis glomerata L. and MSSC aided phytostabilization technique when applied on soils from an area effected by industrial pressure; characterized high levels heavy metal (HM). contents HMs test plant (the roots above-ground parts), well MSSC, were determined via atomic spectrometry method. (3) Results: positively contributed increased production biomass increase pH soil. Concentrations Cu, Cd, Pb, Zn, Cr higher than parts addition most significantly considerable reduction Ni, Zn after experiment. (4) Conclusions: can support contaminated with HMs.

Biofuel Production from Biomasses, Municipal Solid Waste and Sewage Sludge
The aim of this research line is to study and optimize the production of biofuels through the anaerobic digestion (AD) of organic waste (biohydrogen and biomethane) and the exploitation of lipid-rich biomasses and waste matrices (biodiesel). The research on anaerobic digestion has the following goals: a) the study of the biomethanization of unconventional waste matrices, such as algae, municipa...
متن کاملApplication of Municipal Sewage Sludge to Forest and Degraded Land
Nearly 8 million dry tons (7 256 000 t) of municipal sewage sludge are produced each year in the USA by the more than 15 000 publicly owned treatment plants and the tonnage is increasing. Municipalities are faced with increasing cost of incineration, decreasing land for and increasing costs of landfills, and environmental concerns over ocean dumping. Under the circumstances, the attractiveness ...

to compare potential of two organic materials including sewage sludge (ss) and municipal solid wastecompost (msw) on micronutrients entry to soil, a research was conducted as split-plot arrangement basedon randomized complete block design with three replications in research field of sari agriculturaluniversity. main-plot (fertilizer treatments) included 20 and 40 ton/ha ss, 20 and 40 ton/ha ss ...
متن کاملNitrogen management considerations for landspreading municipal solid waste compost.
Many municipalities have examined composting as an alternative to landfilling for the management of organic solid waste materials. Ultimately these materials will be land-applied and therefore some knowledge of nutrient availability will be necessary to optimize crop yield and minimize environmental risk. Field studies were conducted in 1993 and 1994 on a silt loam and a loamy sand soil in Wisc...
متن کاملMethod for Thermal Design of Paddle Dryers: Application to Municipal Sewage Sludge
An experimental methodology was developed to improve the energy design of paddle dryers for sewage sludges. A laboratory batch dryer with a vertical agitator has been especially designed and instrumented to determine the heat flux densities. To determine the drying kinetic and the evaporating flow rates, the specific heat and the total heat of desorption of the sludge were measured using calori...
